Indianapolis Colts Take On Falcons in German Capital – NFL Week 10

Guten tag, fussball fans. How are you? Everything good I hope on this fine morning kickoff to week 10 coming directly from Deutschland. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Indianapolis Colts (7-2) face off against the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). The fifth game played on German soil and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an absolute belter from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “which team got the coin flip?” from the commentator with an unfortunately hot mic.

Well, the Colts have won the toss and have chosen to get the ball first. Daniel Jones and company will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a rough one in their last game?

In a similar vein the singer belting out the US national anthem has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the national anthem of Germany. Elegant.

First Quarter Gameplay

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

And we're off! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor catches a screen pass, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to save his bacon with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the excitement continues as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver cannot reel in a quick pass from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they attempt to end their string of three losses. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

A disappointing start but it only gets worse for the Atlanta as they turn over possession to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the next snap. Kicker Michael Badgley misses the point after attempt. Mistake.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a score of their own. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the middle of the defense for a 13-yard gain. The running back finishes it off for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Other Tenth Week Games

Additionally, the full slate starting at 1 PM EST and 6 PM GMT (home teams listed first) is as follows:

What a feast. I’m planting my flag on the Vikings and Ravens playing out the top contest of the day.
