Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield

A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official statement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.

"The aircraft touched down following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a public statement.

He was traveling back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.

This incident isn't the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has suffered technical problems.

In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical problem.
