This event resulted in the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
